The Alberta Underwater Council (AUC) hosts and sponsors a variety of scuba diving events and activities around Alberta throughout the summer. Lots of diving, fun, and socializing are a guarantee at all the events, here are a few stats from 2011:

• 15 events from May to October 2011
• 535 registered underwater participants (compared to 308 in 2010 and 270 in 2009)
• 77 registered surface volunteers
• over 1,100 people fed at all the events

In support of local diving paricipation, Bonaire Dive Villa is donating a 1-week stay at Villa Makoshi Lower Level for 1 lucky diver. Participate in at least 2 AUC events and your name will be entered in a draw to win a prize packages that include a 1-week stay at Villa Makoshi Lower Level for you and 3 of your dive buddies. Shore support, surface volunteers, and shore clean-up participants will also qualify for the draw.

August 18 – Cold Lake Underwater Rodeo & Cleanup (Cold Lake)

August 25 – Waterton Beargrass & Lake Cleanup (Waterton)

September 9 – Banff Lake Cleanup (Banff)

September 23 – Sylvan Lake Cleanup (Sylvan Lake)

September 29 – Wainwright Pumpkin Dive & Lake Cleanup (Clear Lake)

October 19-21 - Divescapes Conference (Edmonton)
